Bank of Scotland Foundation donates a further £199k

The first tranche of 2015 grants awarded by the Bank of Scotland Foundation, amounts to £199,708, and takes the total distributed by the Foundation to over £6m since 2010, providing much needed support to over 800 charities across Scotland. 

Reinforcing its commitment to Scotland’s charities, the Foundation is today revealing the 21 charities that will benefit from grants ranging from £1,000 to £22,000, across a wide variety of charitable causes, including the elderly, young people, disability, training and education and health, including mental health.  

Kate Guthrie, Chair of the Foundation's Board of Trustees and HR Director, Capability & Engagement, Lloyds Banking Group commented, "I am delighted to announce this year’s first tranche of funding from the Bank of Scotland Foundation. We are proud to support a wide range of charities and enable them to continue to deliver vital and much needed support across their local communities."

The aim of the Bank of Scotland Foundation is to help develop and improve local communities and address financial literacy and financial inclusion by supporting local, regional and national charities working at the heart of communities across Scotland.

The Bank of Scotland Foundation is an independent charity that supports people and their local communities across Scotland. The Foundation receives £2m annually from Lloyds Banking Group to fund all of its Grant Programmes together with a Matched Giving Programme for Lloyds Banking Group colleagues based in Scotland.

Bank of Scotland Foundation Grants Programmes:

Large Grants Programme:

  • Opened for grants of between £50,000 and £100,000 on 13 October 2014
  • Currently closed to applications
  • First beneficiaries will be announced during June 2015
  • Funds can be used over one or two years depending on the needs of the charity
  • The focus of the awards are to develop and improve communities and address financial inclusion and financial literacy in areas of demonstrable need

Small Grants Programme:

  • Open for grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 
  • Next closing  date is 5pm on 13th April 2015
  • Funds can be used for developing and improving local communities

Medium Grants Programme:

  • Open for grants of between £10,001 and £25,000 
  • Next closing  date is 5pm on 13th April 2015
  • Funds can be used for developing and improving local communities and / or financial literacy and financial inclusion
