First anniversary and £1M donated to charities across Scotland

11th November 2011

The Bank of Scotland Foundation celebrates its first anniversary today, 11th November 2011. In the one year since the Foundation was formed, over 200 charities supporting communities across Scotland have shared just over £1 million of funding through its Small Grants programme and Matched Giving programme.

Eighty-two charities have benefited from grants totalling £746,034.68 through the Foundation's Small Grants programme while many other charities have shared £254,061.66 through its Matched Giving programme.

Kate Guthrie, HR Director, Insurance, Lloyds Banking Group and Chair of the Foundation's Board of Trustees commented, "Since November 2010, over 200 charities supporting communities across Scotland have benefited from funding from the Bank of Scotland Foundation and we are delighted that the Foundation has made such a positive impact on the daily lives of so many people.

"We are close to announcing the recipients of the final tranche of funding for 2011 so many more charities will benefit by the end of this year. The first tranche of funding for 2012 is also now open and charities have until Monday 16 January to send in their applications."
