Foundation Grants off to a flying start

Reinforcing its commitment to charities based across the breadth of Scotland, Bank of Scotland Foundation has today revealed the 17 charities that are set to benefit from grants amounting to over £108,000. The grants, ranging from £1,000 to over £15,000, will benefit a wide range of charitable causes including the elderly, young people, disability, financial advice and literacy.

Kate Guthrie, Chair of the Foundation's Board of Trustees and HR Director, Culture, Capability & Engagement, Lloyds Banking Group commented, “I’m immensely proud to be able to announce the first tranche of funding being made available from the Bank of Scotland Foundation this year. The difference these grants make cannot be overestimated. They provide much needed help and support, and allow the charities to continue to deliver vital support to their local communities.”

Bank of Scotland Foundation

Launched in November 2010, the Bank of Scotland Foundation is an independent charity that receives an annual donation of £2m from Lloyds Banking Group. Since its inception, well over 700 charities have received grants from the Foundation, including those announced today.

The Foundation launched a new Medium Grants Programme in January 2014 for grants of between £10,001 and £25,000. This new funding will support charities looking to develop or improve their local communities or address financial literacy and financial inclusion.

The Small Grants Programme will now provide funding of between £1,000 and £10,000 to local, regional and national charities and will focus on making positive change to people and their communities across Scotland.

The next closing date for applications to both the Small and Medium Grants Programmes is Monday 14 April 2014.
