April 2018

We are seeking a Trustee to join our Board and drive forward our work to support positive change across Scotland.  Potential candidates could come from a variety of different backgrounds and should have a good knowledge of the issues facing local communities and the voluntary sector. They should be comfortable working at board level and be confident that they can make a valuable contribution to the work of the Foundation.

£100,000 from charities registered in Scotland. The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Friday 16 February 2018.

Now in its fourth year, 16 charities across Scotland have benefited from over £1.3m of funding through the Foundation’s Large Grants Programme so far. The focus of the awards is to develop and improve communities, as well as support financial inclusion and financial literacy in areas of demonstrable need.

August 2017

’s Third Sector received a significant boost in the first half of 2017, with 46 charities sharing £833,257 after successfully applying for funding through Bank of Scotland Foundation’s Small, Medium and Large Grants Programmes.

Local charities are being invited to pop along to a roadshow that the Bank of Scotland Foundation is holding in Coatbridge on Friday 5 May, where representatives will be on hand to answer questions and support charities with any Bank of Scotland Foundation grant applications they are currently preparing.

The Bank of Scotland Foundation has launched this year’s Large Grants Programme, accepting applications of between £50,000 and £100,000 from charities registered in Scotland. While the Foundation’s Small and Medium Grants require charities to use all of the funds within 12 months, Large Grants provide charities with steady, reliable, funding over a number of years.

Over 80 charities attended a unique free half-day digital workshop in Edinburgh yesterday (1 June 2016), to help them improve their digital skills. The workshop was hosted by the Bank of Scotland Foundation, in collaboration with Bank of Scotland and Google, to improve the digital presence of charities and the digital awareness of their employees.

Motherwell Football Club Community Trust (“the Trust”) will be delivering the Memory Well, an innovative reminiscence therapy project for dementia sufferers, thanks to £14,400 funding from the Bank of Scotland Foundation. 

The Trust is one of 30 Scottish charities to share £243,764 of funding from the Bank of Scotland Foundation’s first tranche of 2016 Small and Medium Grants.

January 2016

During 2015, a total of 88 Scottish charities benefitted from Bank of Scotland Foundation grants totalling over £1.2m. All those charities successfully applied for funding through the Foundation’s 2015 Small, Medium and Large Grants programmes. 

The Bank of Scotland Foundation has released figures for its latest tranche of funding, where 42 Scottish charities received grants totalling over £393,500 in the second half of 2015.
