New Financial Inclusion Grants Programme launched

New Financial Inclusion Grants Programme launched

The Bank of Scotland Foundation is set to further help improve the quality of life for those who are facing challenging circumstances, with the launch of its first ever Financial Inclusion Grants Programme.

Launching on 9 June 2014, this latest programme will provide funding of between £1,000 and £20,000 to registered Scottish charities, enabling them to deliver projects that promote financial inclusion and money advice. In addition to funding, the successful charities will also have the potential to benefit from the wealth of experience and diverse skill sets of Lloyds Banking Group employees through volunteering.

£4.7m directly impacts 80,000 people

This latest Grants programme enhances the Foundation’s existing programmes which have distributed over £4.7m to over 700 charities. Since its launch in November 2010, the Foundation has enabled charities to support almost 100 jobs and have a direct impact on over 80,000 people across Scotland.

Kate Guthrie, Chair of Bank of Scotland Foundation and HR Director, Culture, Capability and Engagement said: “The addition of the Financial Inclusion Grants Programme to our portfolio of grants has the potential to change lives. Financial education and money advice has never been more important. They are key skills that every one of us requires. The impact of the grants we make will be further amplified by Lloyds Banking Group’s volunteering manpower. I am confident that, together, we will be able to make a meaningful and visible difference within our local communities.”
