Foundation distributes over £600,000 to charities

Bank of Scotland Foundation is set to grant in excess of £600,000 to charities across Scotland through its three Grants Programmes. Bringing the total distributed since November 2010 to over £6.8m, the Foundation has provided support to over 800 charities since its launch.    

£405,087 - through Large Grants Programme:

• Aberdeen - North East Sensory Services - £94,239, to help with the running costs for Young Persons Sensory Service for those with sight or hearing loss
• Edinburgh - Fresh Start (Scotland) - £71,284, to help with the costs of project work and a service manager
• Glasgow - PEEK - £78,516, to help with the running costs of a creative learning and development programme for young people
• Glasgow / Bridge of Weir - Quarriers – £98,218, to help with funding for the Learning and Development Initiative in Glasgow
• Greenock - Financial Fitness Resource Team - £62,830, to recruit and employ a new full time emergency financial adviser

Bank of Scotland Foundation Grants Programmes:

Large Grants Programme:

• Offers charities sustainable funding over one or two years, depending on the needs of the charity, by providing grants of between £50,000 and £100,000
• The focus of the awards are to develop and improve communities and address financial inclusion and financial literacy in areas of demonstrable need
• Currently closed, opens November 2015 for 2016 applications

Medium Grants Programme:

• Open for grants of between £10,001 and £25,000 
• Funds can be used for developing and improving local communities and / or financial literacy and financial inclusion
• Next closing date is 5pm on 13th July 2015

Small Grants Programme:

• Open for grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 
• Funds can be used for developing and improving local communities 
• Next closing date is 5pm on 13th July 2015
