Bank of Scotland Foundation boosts Scottish charities with multi-year Energise grants programme

Bank of Scotland Foundation, an independent charity funded solely by Lloyds Banking Group, has provided a significant boost to twenty-five Scottish charities by awarding them a combined £760,000 through its multi-year Energise grants programme. This vital funding offers charities the flexibility to cover essential costs and respond swiftly and effectively to challenges, ensuring they can continue their impactful work within their communities.

The Energise grants programme offers two tiers of unrestricted funding to Scottish charities. Charities with an income below £50,000 can receive £20,000 (£10,000 per year over two years), while those with an income between £50,000 and £150,000 are eligible for £40,000 (£20,000 per year over two years). This unrestricted funding provides charities with greater flexibility and agility, enabling them to use their funding in the way that helps them best whether that be towards core costs, project funding or general running costs.

Among the beneficiaries are Avalon Autism Parental Support and Respite Services, Home-Start Kincardine, Link Befriending Project East Fife, Orkney Foodbank and Western Isles Association for Mental Health, representing a wide range of charities across Scotland.

Donald MacKechnie, Chair of Bank of Scotland Foundation said "Our Energise grants programme reflects our commitment to empowering Scottish charities by providing essential, multi-year, unrestricted funding. We hope that our £760,000 will help twenty-five small and vital charities to continue with their incredible work that improves lives across Scotland.”
