Bank of Scotland Foundation extends Energise grant programme deadline

Bank of Scotland Foundation, an independent charity funded by Lloyds Banking Group, is announcing an extension to the application deadline for its Energise grant programme. The new closing date is now Wednesday 18th December, providing small and local charities with additional time to submit their applications for this transformative funding initiative.

Through the Energise grant programme, eligible charities can apply for a two-year unrestricted grant of up to £40,000 (£20,000 per year). Unrestricted funding enables charities to allocate resources where they’re needed most, allowing them to respond effectively to the ever-evolving needs of people in vulnerable circumstances within their communities.

Donald MacKechnie, Chair of Bank of Scotland Foundation, commented, “We understand how busy and challenging the festive period can be, especially for local charities, and through this extension, we’re demonstrating our commitment and flexibility when it comes to supporting Scottish grass roots charities. We encourage eligible charities to take advantage of this extended deadline and hope to see lots of successful applications”.

Energise is one of three grants programme under the Foundation's new five-year strategy, "Building a Brighter Future for Scotland", which was introduced earlier this year. This strategy focuses on supporting small and medium-sized charities who put people in vulnerable circumstances at the heart of all that they do.

The influence of the Foundations grants is extensive, with awards distributed across 57 constituencies in 2024, ensuring widespread support throughout Scotland.
